Redefining Co-Working Spaces: The Microlab & Julia Swanenberg Project at Microstad

The latest project by Microlab and Julia Swanenberg has transformed Microstad‘s co-working space into a vibrant hub of creativity and collaboration. This redesign showcases how bold design choices and innovative furniture can create an inspiring environment that fosters community and connection.

A Vision of Creativity and Contrast

Microstad’s mission is to build a thriving, inclusive community where innovation and collaboration are central. The redesigned co-working space reflects this vision by embracing contrasts and rough edges to stimulate creativity and interaction. Puik Design’s playful and bold furniture pieces were selected to enhance this dynamic environment.

Project Highlights:

1. Infusing Color and Innovation

• Meeting Room: The meeting room features the Chester Central Large sofa by Lex Pott in a striking blue hue. This space is adorned with vibrant accents, including an orange wall, a pink wall, and a mix of colorful side tables and pillows, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere.

• Small Room: The Pi Chair with Armchair by Richard Hutten adds a touch of sophistication with its dark blue fabric and black steel legs. This piece is complemented by an orange and blue wall and a wooden desk, blending functionality with bold aesthetics.

2. Creating a Dynamic Co-Working Environment

• Co-Working Area: This area is a lively mix of textures and colors. The Pi Lounge with Armchair, designed by Richard Hutten in terracotta, is paired with the Large Hinge by Lex Pott in red and a blue velvet sofa. The space includes a kitchen, dining area, and playful zones, all set against a clean white backdrop.

• Option Lounge Chair: Adding to the co-working area’s eclectic mix, the Option Lounge Chair by Frederik Roijé features a dark blue fabric with black steel legs. This chair, with its square backrest and seat, complements the room’s modern and vibrant design.
